Rise 'n Shine Home Delivery

Most families seem to run out of milk, bread, eggs and other everyday goods at the most inconvenient times.

Have your kids ever argued because there was only enough milk for one of them to have a bowl of cereal?

What about trying to make two sandwiches for school lunches only to find out that there are only three slices of bread left?

Why not have one less thing to worry about and set up a convenient regularly scheduled delivery to your home.

We offer weekly delivery of many of the items you might find yourself running out of
and we can save you the expense and hassle of having to run to the store for that unscheduled trip.

How it works.

Customers set up a standard order that we'll deliver each week to an insulated milkbox on your doorstep.

You're not obligated to take all of the items, it just gives us an idea as to what we should have on the truck and order from our farmer and producer partners.

You can either change your order or make additions to it through an app on your phone or online.

Do you need some ground beef or turkey for dinner? Just add it to your order.

Need some pizzas for a quick meal? Choose from local companies such as Goodman's Wood Fired, Half-Baked or Against the Grain.

When we show up at your house, we'll run to the milkbox to collect the empty glass bottles, (yes, they're returnable), and return to the truck to fill your order.

You can change your order up to midnight the night before delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE DO YOU DELIVER?

We are currently delivering to the following areas:

Charlotte ~ Shelburne ~ South Burlington ~ Williston

Burlington ~ Richmond* ~ Westford* ~ Colchester* ~ Jericho*

Essex Jct ~ Essex Towne ~ Hinesburg* ~ North Ferrisburgh*

*not currently covering the entire town

If we are not in your area, you can still request a product list,

and we'll notify you when we start delivering to your neighborhood.

ARE YOUR PRODUCTS LOCAL?

Most of our products come from within about 100 miles of where

we deliver. In fact, at this point about 90% of our products have a

direct connection to the Vermont economy.

Our test for "local" basically comes down to this:

Does a Vermonter earn a paycheck if we sell this product? That's it. Plain and simple.

If a company just has a post office box here and wants to use the Vermont name for marketing, we don't consider it as having a connection to the Vermont economy.

Kinda makes you feel good about what you're ordering. I know it makes the local farmers and suppliers happy.

ARE ALL OF THE PRODUCTS ORGANIC?

No. Usually it will have the word "Organic" in the title. Companies like to fit that in the label somewhere.

Usually, the price is also a giveaway.

Some of the farms we deal with follow organic or sustainable practices but the cost of having it certified might not make sense for the size of their operation.

WHAT IF I'M NOT HOME FOR DELIVERY?

Although we start early in the morning, the fact is most of our customers aren't home when we make their delivery.

The product is placed in an insulated milkbox and will keep throughout the day. Frozen items are placed within an insulated bag inside the milkbox. On unusually hot days we'll add ice packs. We actually have more of a problem in the cold weather because if the milk freezes the bottles end up breaking.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY STANDARD ORDER AND HOW DO I MAKE CHANGES?

The standard order is for items that you most likely want each week, like milk and eggs. You're not obligated to take them, but we'll have them on the truck.

We have over 200 organic, natural and local products that you can choose from. Just open up the app on your phone and add the items you'd like for your next delivery.

Can it get any easier than that?

CAN I SET UP A DELIVERY FOR EVERY OTHER WEEK?

Sorry, but we're not able to accommodate you with that request. Because of the nature of the business, we need to pick up empty bottles every week so we can fill them again for the next delivery. There are also only a limited number of slots on each route, and it is more productive if we fill those slots with customers that are taking deliveries on a consistent basis.

WHAT IF I'M GOING AWAY AND DON'T NEED A DELIVERY?

That's fine. You can just go online or the app on your phone to notify us when you won't be needing a delivery.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

There's a weekly delivery charge of $4.99.

There is also a fuel adjustment charge that is dependent on the cost of diesel to run the trucks. This will fluctuate according to fuel prices and has fluctuated between 70 cents and $1.99. It is only charged per delivery.

There is a glass bottle deposit that is charged for each bottle you purchase and is credited back for each bottle we pick up that you leave in your milkbox. Please be sure to rinse out the bottles thoroughly before returning them. If you happen to buy a glass bottle of milk at a store, please return it there. We only apply credit to your account for our bottles. Plus, I'm sure those other dairies need their bottles back.

The pricing for all of the other products can be found on the website as you place your order.

HOW DO I PAY?

When you set up your account and standard order you'll be asked to enter some credit card information. We don't charge your card until after a delivery has been made.
